River Excursions

In the Hluhluwe section of the park, an boat ride is possible twice a day, on the Hluhluwe dam, and gives you an different viewing aspect.

The emphasis of the boat ride, is to see the wildlife that normally is hidden from us while driving through the reserve, and many water birds, Hippo's and Crocodiles can be encountered.
If one is fortunate enough, there is a change to see Elephants having a bath and a drink, or see different animal species walking along the water edge.

It is an wonderful sight, to see the local African "Mgodlo community" just outside the park along side the river, still living the traditional way. It gives you the feeling that time stood still.

Prices for the boat rides are not included in the quotes for tours we offer, but can be paid for by you when required.
